Pipe Relining - Taupo District Council - 2018
The relining involved inspecting the existing pipes and using high pressure jetting to remove any sharp objects, such as roots, before re-lining with an epoxy coated cured in place liner. Because the relining smooths over areas that previously would have caught items that had been flushed, it means blockages are greatly reduced.
The relining also prevents water from heavy rain events seeping into the pipe system and inundating the wastewater treatment plant. The CIPP liner has a rated life span much longer than previously used materials and the relining process is both faster than trenching and relaying pipes, as well as providing a 50 per cent cost saving. This job was completed in October 2018.
