Tank Farm Install for Waste Management NZ

Helping build a cleaner future—one tank at a time.

At Abbotts, we're not just solving drainage issues—we’re part of the broader infrastructure network that helps New Zealand manage its waste and recycling systems. Our recent project at Waste Management NZ’s Plastic Recycling Facility is a strong example of that.

We were engaged to support the installation of a new tank farm, part of a critical environmental upgrade to help boost plastic processing capacity and improve site efficiency.

Civil delivery with precision and care

The install required large-volume plastic tanks to be lifted into place via crane, with concrete pads and retaining walls built to support and secure each tank. Our scope included:

  • Preparing and forming the concrete base

  • Constructing low-profile concrete block retaining walls

  • Ensuring fall and alignment for stormwater drainage around the site

  • Coordinating final placement with crane operators and on-site contractors

The site layout offered limited access, so our team worked within tight spatial constraints while maintaining high safety standards and a clean finish throughout.

Practical, durable, and ready to scale

This isn’t your average tank drop. These types of installations require careful planning, sequencing, and attention to the smallest details—from trenching out for drainage to ensuring the tanks are installed flush and fully secure.

It’s all part of our expanding civil capability. Whether we’re working for private industry or public infrastructure, Abbotts delivers practical, scalable results.

We’re proud to support:

  • Waste and recycling facilities

  • Tank farms and treatment systems

  • Environmentally conscious civil infrastructure projects

  • Commercial builds needing integrated stormwater solutions

Get it right the first time

Environmental projects like this demand more than just muscle—they require smart civil support and a partner who understands the end use. That’s where we come in.
